Son Of Sioux Nation Draws Clear To Fourth Group Victory
Brave Emperor (3g Sioux Nation - Roman Gal, by Holy Roman Emperor) continued a fantastic season when recording his fourth Group success in Sunday’s Group 2 Premio Vittorio Di Capua.
Archie Watson’s charge was one of three British raiders in a field of ten to line up for the valuable mile contest. Tracking the leaders under Luke Morris, he was ridden from three furlongs out and led a furlong later. He kept on strongly to lead by four lengths on the line, as dual Group winner Poker Face (Fastnet Rock) completed a 1-2 for Coolmore sires.
Brave Emperor’s fifth Stakes win took his earnings past €350,000 for owners Middleham Park Racing. Bred by Caroline Hanly and Sean Ronan, the first crop son of Sioux Nation is now a nine-time winner and placed four times from 15 starts.
