Brave Emperor (Sioux Nation) Wins The Group 3 Prix Daphnis at Deauville

Son Of Sioux Nation Records Third Stakes Success

Brave Emperor (3g Sioux Nation - Roman Gal, by Holy Roman Emperor) added a second Group 3 success to his impressive record when taking the Prix Daphnis at Deauville on Sunday.

Racing over a mile, Archie Watson’s raider chased the leaders under Luke Morris and was shaken up to lead after the two furlong marker. Ridden clear soon after, he ran on well to deny a late challenger by three parts of a length.

Brave Emperor was recording his fourth win of the year so far, having taken a Group 3 on a trip to Germany, landed a Listed contest in France and secured a valuable prize in a conditions race at Kempton. In fact, the Middleham Park-owned bay has only finished out of the first three on two occasions in his career.

Bred by Caroline Hanly and Sean Ronan, he is one of eight Group/Stakes winners from the first crop of Sioux Nation. The exciting young sire is responsible for 20 individual Stakes performers overall.
