Speedy Newcomer The Latest Winner By Calyx

Imaboutago (2f Calyx - Newtown Pippin, by Dubawi) continued Calyx’s super start at stud when making a winning debut at Gulfstream Park on Friday.

The Wesley Ward-trained newcomer was one of 12 to line up for the two-year-old fillies’ maiden over five furlongs and set the pace under Paco Lopez. Quickening well in the straight, she kicked clear of her rivals to win by two and a half lengths.

Owned by e Five Racing Thoroughbreds and bred by Ennistown Stud, Imaboutago was bought by BBA Ireland as a yearling for 105,000gns. The May-born filly hails from the first crop of Calyx, which is led by two Group 2 winners, a recent Grade 3 winner and Group 1 Dewhurst Stakes third Eben Shaddad.
