Starspangledbanner Filly Races Clear On Return
Only Alone (3f Starspangledbanner - Only Together, by Montjeu) made her three-year-old return a winning one, as she raced clear in Thursday’s five furlong novice stakes at Beverley.
Ridden towards the back of the field by Paul Mulrennan, the Jedd O’Keeffe-trained filly made steady headway from halfway and was travelling well when short of room approaching the final furlong. Ridden to lead inside the final furlong, she won by three and a half lengths, going away.
Owned and bred by Geoff and Sandra Turnbull of Elwick Stud, Only Alone is the first foal out of the mare and comes from the family of connection’s dual Group 1 winner Mondialiste (Galileo).
