Stoute-trained Holy Roman filly claims G3 victory
Mango Diva (3f Holy Roman Emperor-Mango Mischief, by Desert King) made a successful trip across the Irish Sea from Sir Michael Stoute’s Newmarket stable on Sunday to land a G3 success.
A winner on her previous start in Listed company at Salisbury, the Holy Roman Emperor filly took the G3 Denny Cordell Lavarack & Lanwades Stud Fillies' Stakes in good style under Johnny Murtagh.
"She pulled up a bit when she hit the front. She's a bit cautious and was watching everything but she is going the right way. When I eased her out I always thought I'd win. I gave her a smack and she quickened up well. She's with the right man," Murtagh told www.irishracing.com
Mango Diva is home-bred by the Antoniades family and the Racing Post's analyst of the race believe she can step up again stating that "she is now a Group 3 winner but is worth a shot at a higher level and is getting better with racing".
