Holy Roman Emperor Stallion Yard

US Grade Three Winner for Holy Roman

Improving mare Gender Agenda (4m Holy Roman Emperor x Friendlier, by Zafonic) scored her first Black Type victory when taking out the Grade III Robert J Frankel Stakes at Santa Anita.

Trained by Carla Gaines, she scored a tenacious neck win in the 1 and 1/8th mile contest on turf, her fifth success from 18 starts.

“We were trying to decide to run in this race or the 6 ½ down the hill [GII Monrovia S. Jan. 3],” said Carla Gaines.

“She’s a very good miler and we decided to attempt to get her to stretch out that extra eighth, and it worked.”

Gender Agenda is a half-sister to stakes-placed Madam Defarge from Friendlier, a half-sister to Champion 3YO Filly and five-time Group I winner User Friendly.

Gender Agenda is the 52nd stakes-winner worldwide for Holy Roman Emperor, who has just completed a Southern Hemisphere season in Australia.
