Well Bred Holy Roman Emperor Filly Captures Curragh Maiden
Holy Roman Emperor’s first crop produced five-time Group winner Banimpire, and as testament to the sire’s enduring appeal, Banimpire’s full-sister My Holy Fox (3f Holy Roman Emperor - My Renee, by Kris S) gained her maiden win at the Curragh on Sunday.
Taking on 12 rivals in the seven furlong fillies maiden, Jessica Harrington’s charge chased the leaders under Shane Foley and was asked to challenge two furlongs from home. Running on well under pressure, she led entering the final furlong and kept on well to score by three parts of a length.
Harrington later revealed that black-type was on the agenda for My Holy Fox, who races in the colours of Zhang Yuesheng. A €140,000 yearling purchase, the daughter of Holy Roman Emperor was bred by Kilcarn Stud out of a homebred Stakes winner.
