Well-Regarded Sioux Nation Filly Wins Naas Maiden
The Joseph O’Brien-trained Miracle Beauty (2f Sioux Nation – Equanimity, by Exceed And Excel) shaped like a smart type when winning Sunday’s six furlong fillies maiden at Naas.
She had a black-type filly behind her on debut last month, when she finished second over course and distance, and was sent off favourite to go one better. Racing prominently under Dylan Browne McMonagle, she was ridden to challenge approaching the final furlong and ran on to lead 110 yards out. She went on to win by half a length, with another half a length back to Pickersgill (Starspangledbanner) in third.
“Miracle Beauty is still very raw and a big baby,” the winning rider commented. “She travelled well for the first half but she's still learning and will be a nice filly next year.”
Owned by Mark Dobbin, Miracle Beauty holds an entry in the Irish 1,000 Guineas. The daughter of Sioux Nation was bred by Pegasus Bloodstock and sold for €310,000 as a yearling.
