Uncle Phil (Walk In The Park) wins Beginners Chase at Kilbeggan

13-Length Chase Win For Son Of Walk In The Park

Uncle Phil (6g Walk In The Park – Synthe Davis, by Saint Des Saints) provided his winning trainer-jockey combination of Willie Mullins and Michael O’Sullivan with a double on the card at Kilbeggan yesterday afternoon as the Walk In The Park gelding showed his six rivals a clean set of heels in the Beginners Chase to score by an easy thirteen lengths.

It’s the third career win for Uncle Phil following a debut success over hurdles at Killarney and a 14-length bumper win at Kilbeggan. Assistant trainer Patrick Mullins commented “He jumps fantastic and he's going to be a much better chaser than he was a hurdler”.

Uncle Phil was bred by Mr K D Cotter and sports the distinctive yellow and black checkered silks of former Cheltenham Gold Cup winning owners Joe and Marie Donnelly.
