Aurora Vega (Walk In The Park) Wins The Bumper At Killarney

Aurora Vega Outclasses Rivals To Remain Unbeaten

Aurora Vega (5m Walk In The Park - Quevega, by Robin Des Champs) never came off the bridle when making it two from two in Saturday’s bumper at Killarney.

The full-sister to Facile Vega (Walk In The Park) eased 12 lengths clear on debut in June and was sent off favourite to follow up against geldings on Saturday. Patrick Mullins set a steady pace aboard the Willie Mullins-trained bay and began to quicken with over three furlongs left to race. Her rivals were in trouble before the turn for home, but her rider barely batted an eyelid as they coasted clear, leading by ten lengths on the line.

“It was very straightforward,” the winning rider commented. “She is improving and we're hoping to get black-type with her.”

Like her dual Grade 1 winning brother, Aurora Vega is owned by breeders the Hammer & Trowel Syndicate
