Flemensfirth on fire at Fairyhouse
As part one of Tattersalls Ireland’s Derby Sale reached its conclusion on Thursday night, Flemensfirth was the sire on everybody’s lips after being responsible for no less than four six-figure lots.
Leading the way, with a price tag of €155,000, were three-year-olds out of J’y Viens (by Smadoun) and Lady Petit (by Beneficial) sold respectively to Aiden Murphy and Colm Murphy.
Aiden Murphy announced that the former would go into training in Britain while Colm Murphy was buying for owners Ann and Alan Potts.
He said of his purchase: “He’s a smashing individual and looks a pure athlete. He’s got the page and looks a racehorse and we’ll just hope that he’s lucky for Mr and Mrs Potts.”
Flemensfirth’s offerings also made €115,000, €100,000, €85,000, €80,000, €75,000 (x2) etc. Flemensfirth also had stores make €110,000 and €100,000 at the Goffs Land Rover Sale earlier in June.
