Four-Year-Old Winner From Wings Of Eagles’ First Irish Crop
Hay Meadow (4m Wings Of Eagles – Give Us A Look, by Grand Plaisir) finished strongly to get off the mark in the four-year-old mares maiden at Ballyragget on Sunday.
Jack Hendrick partnered the Billy Codd bred, owned and trained mare on her second start and led the field until the final circuit. Producing a challenge at the second last, she dug deep on the run-in to win by a neck, with another neck back to promising newcomer Tricksofthetrade (Order Of St George) in third.
Hay Meadow hails from the first Irish crop of Beeches Stud sire Wings Of Eagles. Buyers of his stock at last year’s store sales included Bobby O’Ryan, Gerry Hogan, Jamie Codd, Kevin Ross, Colin Bowe’s Milestone Bloodstock and Patrick Turley’s Kingsfield Stud.
