Wings Of Eagles Mare Draws Clear To Second Straight Win
Leloopa (4f Wings Of Eagles – Walkthefirth, by Flemensfirth) built on last month’s maiden hurdle victory to run out a clear winner of the mares’ novices’ hurdle at Huntingdon on Tuesday.
Just like last time, the Fergal O’Brien-trained mare was sent off favourite and made all of the running under Tom Broughton. Quickening from three out, she was shaken up to draw clear at the last and went on to win by six and a half lengths, unchallenged.
Owned by the Paddy Brennan Racing Syndicate and bred by The Beeches Stud, Leloopa hails from Wings Of Eagles’ first crop conceived in Ireland. The Beeches Stud sire is responsible for two Listed winners and another two stakes-placed horses.
Wings Of Eagles’ three-year-olds sold for up to €88,000 at this year’s store sales.
