Churchfield Sunset (Wings Of Eagles) Wins The Listed Coolmore Nh Sires Hurricane Lane Irish Ebf Mares Bumper

Wings Of Eagles Filly Lands Listed Bumper In Fine Style

Churchfield Sunset (4f Wings Of Eagles – Old Moon, by Old Vic) led home a 1-2 for Coolmore NH sires in the Listed Coolmore NH Sires Hurricane Lane Irish EBF Mares Bumper at Navan.

The Emmet Mullins-trained bay made all under John Gleeson and was pushed along after the two furlong marker. Ridden clear inside the final furlong, she went on to score by four lengths and three quarters, while Mummy Derry (Yeats) claimed runners-up honours.

“She is cracking filly with a brilliant attitude,” Mullins said after the race. “She's as game and always has been. She is improving all the time and fingers crossed, she could go on to better things.”

The Conor Dermot O’Brien-owned filly had justified favouritism on debut in May and went on to finish second next time out. Churchfield Sunset is a half-sister to three black-type horses by Flemensfirth, most notably three-time Grade 1 winner Ballyburn.

Churchfield Sunset was bred by the Beeches Stud and hails from the first Irish crop of Wings Of Eagles.
