Impressive Four Year Old Winner For Walk In The Park
Walk In The Park’s terrific run continued on Sunday, as an impressive performance by Flash In The Park (4g Walk In The Park - Mrs Masters, by Un Desperado) completed the first leg of a double for the Grange Stud sire.
Ridden by Brian Lawless on his second start, the Donnchadh Doyle-trained bay finished 20 lengths clear of his nearest rival in the four-year-old maiden at Knockmullen House.
The exciting prospect will presumably now be sold to produce a fine return on the €65,000 paid by Monbeg Stables at the Goffs Land Rover Sale. Bred by Denis Cummins, he provides an exciting update for his three-year-old full-sister.
Shortly after at Dromahane, the promising Giovinco (5g Walk In The Park - Whyalla, by Bandari) prevailed in a thrilling finish to the five-year-old geldings maiden.
Trained by Michael Griffin for owner/breeder Colm Griffin, the son of Walk In The Park had shown promise before falling at the final fence last time out. Partnered by Tom Feeney at Dromahane, the bay was delivered to lead at the last and kept on well to deny Quantam Storm (Fame And Glory) by a head.
