Fleur In The Park (Walk In The Park) Wins On Debut at Roscommon

Smart Debut Winner By Walk In The Park

Fleur In The Park (4g Walk In The Park - Fleur D’Ainay, by Poliglote) emerged as a smart prospect when justifying strong market support in Monday’s bumper at Roscommon.

Andy Slattery’s newcomer was sent off favourite under Adam Ryan and travelled strongly throughout the two mile contest. Making headway from two furlongs out, he was ridden approaching the final furlong and ran on well to lead close home. He kept on to win by a length and a quarter going away.

“He's very nice,” said Andy Slattery after the race, adding that the winner would improve for fitness. “We think a good bit of him and think he could be a Leopardstown type of horse.”

Bred by N Heaney and K Heaney, the promising son of Walk In The Park is owned by Mrs Margaret O’Rourke.
