Smart Four-Year-Old Double For Walk In The Park
Histrionic (4g Walk In The Park - Flemensbay, by Flemensfirth) kicked off a four-year-old double for Walk In The Park on Friday when making a smart debut in the Four-Year-Old Maiden at Tralee point-to-point.
Trained by Denis Murphy for Grangeclare Stud, he began to make headway from four out and improved to lead approaching the second last. Keeping on well, he scored by two and a half lengths under Jack Hendrick.
Bred by AV Bloodstock, Histrionic sold to Joey Logan at the Derby Sale for €100,000. He provides an important update for his three-year-old full-brother and a yearling brother by Getaway.
At Fairyhouse later that afternoon, fellow newcomer Practice Run (4g Walk In The Park - Hazy Shadow, by Beneficial) led home a 1-2 for his sire in the Four-Year-Old Geldings Maiden.
Colin Bowe’s charge displayed a game attitude when rallying under Barry O’Neill to beat Sportinthepark (Walk In The Park) by a length and a half, with the pair finishing ten lengths clear of the field.
Practice Run carries the colours of Brian Acheson, having been bought by Mags O’Toole at the Goffs Land Rover Sale for €105,000. The son of Walk In The Park was bred by Sean Reilly.
