Smart Son Of Walk In The Park Bolts Up On Hurdle Bow
Smart bumper horse Bowenspark (5g Walk In The Park - Bowenscourt, by Westerner) appears to have a bright future over hurdles after making an impressive return to action at Stratford on Thursday.
Henry Daly’s charge won his first two starts last season, before finishing fourth in both Listed and Grade 2 bumpers. The son of Walk In The Park was sent off a short-priced favourite for Thursday’s Novices’ Hurdle and raced prominently throughout the two mile contest under Richard Patrick. Leading from three out, he drew clear on the turn for home and eased further clear on the run-in to score by 11 lengths.
Owned by Hemmings Racing, Bowenspark is the first foal bred by Brittas House Stud and Grenane House out of their winning homebred Bowenscourt (Westerner). A full-brother to her smart son of Walk In The Park sold for €75,000 at last year’s store sales.
