Boher Road (Vadamos) Wins The Maiden Hurdle At Wexford

Son Of Vadamos Coasts Clear In Maiden Hurdle

Boher Road (4g Vadamos - Shahzeena, by Rock Of Gibraltar) impressed when making all to a wide margin victory in Friday’s maiden hurdle at Wexford.

Jarlath Fahey’s charge had shown promise on both his previous starts over hurdles and also boasted two wins on the flat, including in a Curragh maiden. Partnered by Peter Smithers on Friday, he travelled strongly throughout and boasted a clear advantage from four out. He needed little encouragement to lead by 19 lengths on the line, as the favourite did his best to narrow the gap.

“He was a good winner,” Jarlath Fahey commented after the race. “He jumps well and likes to do his own thing in front. We might run him back on the level and could go for a premier handicap.”

The smart son of Vadamos carries the colours of breeder Patrick McCarthy.
