Son Of Vadamos Draws Clear On Hurdle Debut
As Tears Go By (4g Vadamos - Our Girl Salley, by Carroll House) made a perfect start to his hurdling career in Sunday’s maiden hurdle at Sligo.
The Gordon Elliott-trained bay raced prominently under Jordan Gainford and made headway to take second four from home. Pushed along to lead after the penultimate flight, he was ridden clear on the run-in to win by five and a half lengths.
“As Tears Go By jumped well and did it well,” Gainford commented after the race. “He has shown plenty of ability at home.”
As Tears Go By is owned by Mrs Caren Walsh and Dee L’Estrange, with Walsh also co-owning his talented half-sister Black Tears. Bred by Rowlan Crellin, the son of Grange Stud sire Vadamos has a two-year-old sister by Getaway.
