Son Of Vadamos Fetches Six Figures At Derby Sale

A first crop son of Grange Stud sire Vadamos provided a handsome return for connections when selling for €105,000 at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale.

Glenvale Stud consigned the sire’s sole gelding of the week, which had been purchased by Aiden Murphy as a yearling for €37,000. After signing the docket, agent Kevin Ross said, “He is a lovely, athletic horse and looks like a racehorse. The sire has started off well, and we have been very keen on them from the start. This horse has been bought for an established client and he will probably be trained in Ireland.”

Ballintry Stud offered the sole daughter of Vadamos in the catalogue, which sold to Ian Ferguson for €48,000. Joe Rogers’ homebred is a sister to dual Grade 3 winner Rock The Kasbah and Grade 2 runner-up Getaway Gorgeous (Getaway).
