Son Of Vadamos Gains Deserved Maiden Hurdle Win
A step up in trip proved just the trick for Foxfire Glow (5g Vadamos - Fabiola, by Medicean) who gained a deserved win in Thursday’s maiden hurdle at Downpatrick.
Bought as a three-year-old for €315,000, the son of Vadamos had placed on three previous occasions for Gordon Elliott and JP McManus, and was sent off favourite as he stepped up to two miles and six furlongs. Ridden prominently by Mark Walsh, he asserted after the second last and stayed on well on the run-in to win by two lengths and three quarters. The first two home drew eight lengths clear of the field.
Foxfire Glow was bred by Earl Elevage Des Loges and hails from the first crop of Grange Stud sire Vadamos.
