Champagne Kid (Vadamos) Wins The Bumper At Listowel

Son Of Vadamos Wins Listowel Bumper In Good Style

A step up in trip brought out the best in Champagne Kid (5g Vadamos – Treacle Noir, by Raise A Grand) as he made a winning seasonal return in Thursday’s bumper at the Listowel Harvest Festival.

Pat Collins’ charge raced prominently throughout the two and a half mile bumper and led with over two furlongs left to race. Ridden clear a furlong later, he ran on well under Rob James to score by four and a half lengths, with another ten lengths back to the third.

“We thought he was going really well at home and had this race picked out for him after his last run at Clonmel,” assistant trainer Sean Collins later commented. “It's great to get a winner by Vadamos as we've supported him.”

The promising five-year-old is owned by Gary Rushe and was bred by Tally-Ho Stud.
