Son Of Vadamos Wins Novice Hurdle With Ease
Stoke The Fire (5g Vadamos – Jewel Of The Nile, by Authorized) strengthened Willie Mullins’ chances of securing the British trainers’ title when justifying favouritism in the two mile Novices’ Hurdle at Perth on Friday.
Runner-up in a valuable handicap on the flat, the son of Vadamos bolted up on his hurdle debut in January and placed in a Grade 3 next time out. Partnered by Patrick Mullins at Perth, the bay raced prominently throughout and eased into the lead approaching the final flight. Mullins remained virtually motionless as he went on to win by a length, as the runner-up came under pressure, but to no avail. The pair finished ten lengths clear of the remainder.
Stoke The Fire is owned by Middleham Park Racing and was bred by Haras des Pyrenees.
