Son Of Walk In The Park Completes Hat Trick Of Wins
Will Do (6g Walk In The Park - Alleygrove Lass, by Alderbrook) recorded his third consecutive success on Thursday when justifying favouritism in the Novice Hurdle at Thurles.
Gordon Elliott’s charge chased home the classy Monbeg Park (Walk In The Park) in a maiden hurdle before placing in three bumpers and gained a deserved win on his final start of last season. He returned a comfortable winner of a maiden hurdle last month and dropped down to two miles and seven furlongs on Thursday.
Racing prominently throughout, the bay was ridden to lead approaching the final flight and ran on well under Jack Kennedy to score by two lengths and three quarters. Getaway Charlie (Getaway) completed a 1-2 for Coolmore NH sires.
“The further he goes the better he is,” the winning rider commented. “He did it well and the softer ground the better. Hopefully he keeps progressing.”
Will Do was purchased privately by Gigginstown House Stud following his debut fourth at Oldcastle for Colin McKeever. Bred by Alan Loughlin, the son of Walk In The Park provides an important update for his full-brother catalogued in the Goffs December NH Sale.
