Son Of Walk In The Park Delivers In Maiden Hurdle
Macanogue (6g Walk In The Park - Annilogs Symphony, by Accordion) justified strong market support to get off the mark in Friday’s maiden hurdle at Kilbeggan.
Racing over two miles, the Luke Comer-trained bay chased the leader under Ben Harvey and was travelling well when leading from the second last. Ridden out on the run-in, he kept on well to prevail by half a length on the line, with another six and a half lengths back to the third.
“He promised a lot as a young horse,” the winning rider later revealed. “He’s a very good work horse and I really fancied him here today if he put things together. He jumps fences really well and I'd say he'll make a lovely chaser.”
Owned by the Stylebawn Syndicate, the son of Walk In The Park was bred by Miss Catheriona Tully.
