Walk In The Park Gelding Eases Clear At Punchestown

Shannon Royale (5g Walk In The Park - Shannon Rose, by Topanoora) produced an impressive performance to run out a clear winner of Sunday’s maiden hurdle at Punchestown.

The son of Walk In The Park sold to Mags O’Toole for £300,000 following his debut win for Denis Murphy and went on to win a bumper last season for Gordon Elliott and Robcour. Placed on his first two starts over hurdles, he made all of the running in Sunday’s two mile and six furlong contest. Travelling strongly throughout under Jack Kennedy, he drew clear before the final flight and was eased down close home to win by 24 lengths. Grade 1 performer Tullyhill chased him home in second.

Shannon Royale was bred by Vambeck Bloodstock and sold for €90,000 as a foal.
