Walk In The Park Gelding Wins Bumper Impressively

Woodland Park (5g Walk In The Park – Lonesome Dove, by Milan) shaped like a smart prospect when drawing clear to win Wednesday’s bumper at Market Rasen.

The Olly Murphy-trained bay finished a promising third on debut in February and was reunited with Sean Bowen on his second start. Held up at the back of the field in the early stages, he improved to race in touch from over three furlongs out and was ridden to lead approaching the final furlong. He kept on well inside the final furlong to win by eight and a half lengths.

Owned by Adrian Butler, Woodland Park was bought by his trainer with Aiden Murphy at the Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale for €110,000. The son of Walk In The Park was bred by Cathal Mariga out of the black-type Milan mare Lonesome Dove.
