Double Pink (Walk In The Park) Wins The Mares Maiden Hurdle At Tramore

Walk In The Park Mare Enjoys Change Of Fortune

The promising Double Pink (6m Walk In The Park - Why Not Thistle, by Flemensfirth) led home a 1-2 for Walk In The Park in the Mares’ Maiden Hurdle at Tramore on Sunday.

Runner-up in a bumper on her sole start for Willie Mullins, Claudine Corrigan’s homebred returned to Daniel Murphy’s yard this season and was unlucky when carried out on her hurdle debut last month. Ridden by Brian Hayes at the weekend, she made most of the running and was pushed along approaching the final flight. Keeping on well, she held Silent Approach (Walk In The Park) by half a length on the line.

Bred by Corrigan with Tom Conway, Double Pink is the first foal out of their winning Flemensfirth mare Why Not Thistle.
