Walk In The Park Mare Never Headed In Listed Hurdle
Arctic Fly (5m Walk In The Park - Arctic Lady, by Soldier Hollow) made it two from two over hurdles with a dominant display in the Listed Novice Hurdle on the second day of the Galway Festival.
The Willie Mullins-trained mare won a bumper at Leopardstown on debut last season and was last seen winning her first start over hurdles by nine lengths at Punchestown. Taking on geldings for the first time on Tuesday, she was ridden to make all by Sean O’Keeffe and travelled strongly throughout. Challenged when going best of the field before the second last, she was soon ridden clear and kept on well on the run-in to score by four and a half lengths.
“Sean (O'Keeffe) was very good on Arctic Fly,” Mullins said after the race. “She's a Walk In The Park filly, you can't get much better than that I think. She's going to improve I would say.”
Arctic Fly runs in the colours of Brendan O’Sullivan and was bred by Edward Kearney.
