Walk In The Park Sires Smart Four-Year-Old Double
Jenny France (4m Walk In The Park – Jennys Surprise, by Hawk Wing) became Walk In The Park’s second four-year-old maiden winner of the weekend when drawing clear at Lingstown on Sunday.
The Jonathan Fogarty-trained mare finished a promising second on debut last month and was sent off favourite to go one better in the four-year-old mares maiden. Sent for home from the second last by Barry Stone, she led by 14 lengths on the line, as newcomer Queensworthy (Order Of St George) finished 12 lengths clear of the third.
The Donal White-bred bay will now be sold.
At Boulta the previous day, Frankie John (4g Walk In The Park – The Crown Jewel, by Stowaway) made a successful debut in the four-year-old maiden under Harry Swan.
Denis Hogan’s charge came off the pace to lead in the closing stages, going on to score by a neck, with the front pair finishing 11 lengths clear of the remainder. The €115,000 store sale buy was bred by Mrs E.M. Motherway out of The Crown Jewel, whose Crystal Ocean three-year-old fetched €60,000 earlier this year.
