Walk In The Park’s Firefox Continues Winning Streak
Firefox (5g Walk In The Park - Cuteasafox, by Vinnie Roe) impressed when recording his fourth consecutive success in Saturday’s maiden hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Gordon Elliott’s charge came into the racing with three wins from four starts in bumpers, and was sent off second favourite to the exciting Ballyburn (Flemensfirth). Making all under Jack Kennedy, he was travelling best with two flights left to jump and was soon clear. Pushed out on the run-in, he won by two and a half lengths, while the favourite finished 12 lengths clear of the third.
Speaking after the race, the in-form Gordon Elliott said, “He looks exciting and you'd like his attitude. I just loved the way he jumped. Jack said he was so professional over the last two.”
The performance saw Firefox halved in price for the Grade 1 Supreme Novices Hurdle. Bred by Grange Stud, the son of Walk In The Park sold to owner Bective Stud for €280,000 as a three-year-old.
