$260,000 Colt Leads Mo Town Offerings In First OBS March Session
Uncle Mo’s Grade I-winning son Mo Town had a good first day of the juvenile sales on Tuesday when his colt out of Pardomecomingthru sold to West Point Thoroughbreds for $260,000.
One of the most expensive offerings by a first crop sire during the first session, the colt breezed in :10.1 last week as a representative of Gene Recio’s consignment.
The colt’s dam is a stakes placed half-sister to Grade II Peter Pan Stakes winner Postponed and stakes winner Bridesmaid among the four stakes performers out of Bridal Tea. His third dam is the Grade II winning Chapel Of Dreams, who not only is a half-sister to Storm Cat but also a successful producer of producers.
Mo Town also saw Mike Ryan purchase a filly out of Shopped Out for $150,000, the eighth most expensive filly by a freshman in the session.
Consigned by Niall Brennen Stables, the :10.1 breezer is a half-sister to stakes winner and multiple Grade 2-placed Competitive Speed and two other winners from Shopped Out’s three to race.
By an emerging sire-of-sires, Mo Town was a Grade I winner on turf and Grade II winner on dirt during his racing career.
