$95,000 Colt Leads Way For Mo Town
It was another topper for Mo Town during the final session of the Keeneland January Horses of All Ages Sale when his colt out of Coral Beach was the yearling session topper at $95,000.
Sold to Five G Ranch, the colt was consigned by Mulholland Springs and bred by Hidden Lake Farm. He is out of a Tale of the Cat half-sister to Chilean champion Desert Power with his second dam a half-sister to Grade II winner Cool Coal Man and stakes winner Kathleen’s Reel.
Mo Town also had the second most expensive yearling filly of the session when DARRS Inc and James Bredin bought a $62,000 filly from Gainesway for over eight times Mo Town’s $7,500 stud fee. Out of Adirondack Sky, the filly’s granddam is also the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Scuba and the Group II winner L’Amoud de Ma Vie.
A dual surface graded stakes winning son of sire-of-sires Uncle Mo, Mo Town saw six of his first yearlings sell at the Keeneland January Sale for an average of $54,750 and median of $57,000 – 7.6-times his 2021 stud fee of $7,500.
