Baytown Get It On Breaks Through for Mo Town
A multiple placed runner for sire-of-sires Uncle Mo’s first crop sire Mo Town, Baytown Get It On (2c Mo Town x Missing Treasure, by Out of Place) became his sire’s newest winner on Wednesday with a victory at Churchill Downs.
Trained by co-owner Paul McEntee, the bay colt was happy to stay a few lengths behind the leader through the first half of the five-furlong race before moving closer to the leader as they turned into the stretch. Down the stretch, Baytown Get It On chased down the leader to win by a length at the line with all but the top three more than six lengths behind the winner.
Bred by Hall Stables, Baytown Get It On is owned by McEntee Racing, Jose Gonzalez, Samuel Hall Jr, and Little Red Feather Racing.
The colt is the fourth winner from four to race out of the stakes-placed Missing Treasure. That mare is one of two stakes performers for High How Silver as a half-sister to the stakes winner and 24-time winner Skeleton Crew. There are stakes winners under three of Baytown Get It On’s first four dams with those also on the page including multiple Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Con Lima.
Grade I winner Mo Town is the sire of three winners in two different countries with five of his eight runners having at least one placing and his winning Mr. Gordy finishing fourth in a juvenile stakes.
