Big Results for Mo Town at OBS March
Mo Town’s success with his first runners on the track translated well to the sales ring at this week’s OBS March Two-Year-Olds In Training Sale when his group was led by a $300,000 colt purchased by Vince Foglia.
Consigned by Eddie Woods and putting in a :10.0 breeze during the Under Tack show, the colt is out of the Malibu Moon mare Dance Play. Out of a half-sister to Grade I winner Homesman, Dance Play is the dam of a two-time winner from one to race.
The colt’s fourth dam is the Grade I winner and top broodmare Andover Way, who produced Grade II winner and successful sire Dynaformer and the dams of Grade I winners Lines of Battle and Offlee Wild.
Mo Town was also the sire of a $130,000 filly early in the sale.
Purchased by Turf Express Racing Partners from Tom McCrocklin, the filly is the first foal out of Salty Soul. That mare is out of the 23-time winner and stakes placed Pyramyst, who is one of three stakes performers for her own dam.
Standing for $5,000 this year, Mo Town is the sire of 10 winners in 2023 alone, led by three stakes performers.
