Enduring Spirit (Tiz The Law) Wins At Churchill

Enduring Spirit First Winner for Tiz The Law

Already the sire of two placers from his first three runners, four-time Grade I winner Tiz The Law registered his first winner on Thursday when Enduring Spirit (2c Tiz The Law x Life Starts, by Into Mischief) won at Churchill Downs in his second start.

Contesting five furlongs on the dirt, the Rafael Ramos trainee was first out of the gate and kept it the way around the track. Easily galloping in front under Reylu Gutierrez, he encountered his only true challenge around the turn. As they turned into the stretch, he started pulling away and had a comfortable one-length lead at the line.

Racing for R T Racing Stable, the colt was the only non-placer for Tiz The Law before this start after encountering a wet track at Keeneland in his debut.

The Carolyn Vogel-bred juvenile is the second winner from as many starters out of Into Mischief mare Life Starts. Life Starts is a half-sister to Grade III-placed Izzie’s Halo and to the dams of stakes winner Patton’s Tizzy and stakes placed Crystal Rosario.

Enduring Spirit’s third dam is successful broodmare Serena’s Sister, who produced multiple graded stakes winner Doubles Partner and stakes winner Stormy Venus in addition to the dams of champion Rizeena and Group I winner Zabeel Prince.

Life Starts has a yearling full brother to this winner and was bred to champion Corniche for 2024.

The sire of three juveniles being offered at next week’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-Year-Olds In Training Sale, Tiz The Law has seen his first crop sell for up to $1.9 million this year.
