Tiz The Law Filly Wins Woodbine MSW
It was a new winner for Tiz The Law on Saturday when Tiz Her Money (2f Tiz The Law x Money Madness, by Rahy) won a Woodbine Maiden Special Weight.
Trained by Mark Casse and racing exclusively at Woodbine since her Saratoga debut, Tiz Her Money gave the rest of the field an advantage at the gate. Her troubled break meant she had to settle for last early in the 1 1/16-mile race on the synthetic track with the leader having 10 lengths on her for the first half of the race.
It wasn’t until the far turn that the filly made it obvious she wasn’t giving up as she started passing rivals. In the stretch, she was flying down the center of the track and grabbed the lead with a sixteenth left to run before racing away to a 1 ½ length victory at the line.
This was the second straight top two finish for the Peter Deutsch representative, who was bred in Kentucky by RTA Family Trust and George E. Saufley.
Tiz Her Money is a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Boardroom and stakes placed Ever a Rebel among three other winners from five siblings to race out of Money Madness. This is also the family of Grade II winner and multiple Grade I-placed Funistrada, who produced multiple stakes winners with the page also including Grade I winner Admiral Kitten.
Tiz The Law leads all freshmen sires by earnings, stakes winners, graded stakes winners, and graded stakes performers in 2024.
