Silent Law (Tiz The Law) Wins Anoakia

Fifth Stakes Winner for Tiz The Law

It was a generation-leading fifth stakes winner for Tiz The Law on Friday when Silent Law (2f Tiz The Law x Southern Silence, by Dixie Union) won the Anoakia Stakes.

Put in this six-furlong dirt race after winning her debut, Silent Law didn’t give her rivals a chance to catch her. She quickly moved close to the rail from the farthest gate and opened multiple lengths before being allowed to slow.

The field moved closer around the turn, but when Juan Hernandez asked her to pick up again, Silent Law sprinted off to a 3 ½ length win over Practical Joke’s Practical Dream.

Silent Law is trained by Bob Baffert for CSLR Racing Partners and was a $400,000 2-year-old purchase by Bill Childs from Tom McCrocklin earlier this year.

“I think it was pretty impressive as fast as she went early she kept going,” said Baffert. “There's a lot of talent there. We just have to harness the speed a little better. We will let her decide on races, right now I think there’s a race at Del Mar we might run her there. She will let us know.”

The filly is the third stakes winner for Southern Silence, who also produced two stakes performers as well. In all, all five of Southern Silence’s winners have blacktype, led by multiple stakes winners Liberate and Esplanade.

The family also includes Grade I winners Taisez Vous, Pinball Wizard, and Snappy John among others.

Tiz The Law leads all freshmen by earnings, stakes winners and graded stakes winners while striking at a 17.5% stakes performers to runners rate as well.
