First-Crop Echo Town Yearlings Set for Fasig-Tipton October

The final yearling sale of the season sees 12 yearlings by Grade I winner Echo Town offered this week at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale.

His first offered as Hip 18 is the Brandywine Farm-bred and offered son of Above It. That mare has produced six winners from seven to race, including the eight-time winner Jemrose. Above It’s five stakes placed siblings include four stakes winners, led by the Grade III winner and Grade I-placed Primitive Hall.

Three other non-stakes winning siblings are also the dams or granddams of stakes performers, led by the stakes winning duo of Sky and Sea and Always Kitten.

Hip 202 offered by Grovendale Sales is the first foal out of the Ghostzapper mare Cantaloupe Island.

Bred by BHMFR LLC, the filly is bred 3 x 3 to Echo Town’s granddam Echo Echo Echo. That mare is the dam of Echo Town’s Grade II winner Letgomyecho in addition to this filly’s granddam. Letgomyecho produced champion Echo Zulu and Grade III winner J Boys Echo in addition to Echo Town with five stakes performers produced by the mare overall.

Echo Echo Echo not only produced four stakes performers but is the matriarch of a family that includes eight stakes winners and 12 other stakes performers.

Eaton Sales offers Hip 295, a filly bred by Mike Rutherford out of Country Cafe.

The mare is the dam of the Grade III-placed Glacial and the dam of Mendelssohn’s stakes winning Opus Forty Two among her five winners from six runners. Country Café is a full sister to the Grade III winning Heart Ashley and a half-sister to Grade I winner Cupid, Grade III winner Ashley’s Kitty, and stakes winner Indianapolis.

Heart Ashley is a stakes producer herself as the dam of multiple graded stakes winner Fiano Romano and Group III-placed Ameristralia, who produced Grade II winner Ain’t Easy. Another one of Country Café’s half-sisters is the granddam of multiple graded stakes winner Kathleen O and this year’s Grade III winner V V’s Dream.

Gainesway is the consignor of Hip 1080, an Echo Town half-brother to Group III winner and Group I-placed Red Verdon.

Bred by Liberty Road Stables, the yearling is out of the multiple stakes winning Porto Marmay, who is the dam of four winners from five to race. Porto Marmay is also a half-sister to the stakes placed duo of Peak Power and Orpsie Boy and out of a half-sister to Hong Kong great River Verdon. Each of the three dams on the yearling’s page have produced at least one stakes winner.

The final through the ring for Echo Town is Hip 1586, consigned by Warrendale Sales for Silesia Farm, who bred her with Hartmut Malluche.

That filly is a half-sister to stakes winner Freedom Speaks and four other winners out of the winning Wicked Speed. Wicked Speed is a half-sister to Canadian Horse of the Year Fatal Bullet and stakes winner Millennia and to a stakes producing dam. That mare has produced Munnings’ stakes winning filly Dancing Duchess and her Queen’s Plate winning half-brother Safe Conduct. Both have updates included on the page after the catalog was released.
