First Mo Town Colt Arrives In New York
Spectacular Grade I winner Mo Town’s first foal has arrived with four-time winner Dark Dolores foaling a colt at Stonegate Stables in New York on January 14.
Bred by Michael Cogan of Irie Thoroughbreds, the colt comes from a strong family. Successful on the track herself, Dark Dolores is the half-sister to Grade III winner and stakes producing Gastronomical and Listed winner Spanish John. She is also a half-sister to three other dams of stakes horses, including the dam of Grade II winner Black Astor.
“Conformationally this colt is a great representation for the young sire Mo Town,” said Bill Johnson of Stonegate Stables. “He exudes class and strength and very much looks like he follows the sire lines of Uncle Mo and Indian Charlie. We are excited to have foaled the first Mo Town colt in New York.”
A top racehorse who won the Grade II Remsen Stakes at two and Grade I Hollywood Derby at three, Mo Town is by leading sire and fellow Ashford stallion Uncle Mo.
