Galactic Tide 20th Winner for Mo Town
Galactic Tide (2f Mo Town x Ten Pin Tide, by Tenpins) is the latest winner for Mo Town after a 1 ¾ length victory at Laurel Park on Sunday.
Asked to race over six furlongs on the dirt by owner-trainer Courtney Young, Galactic Tide raced just a length behind the pacesetter for the early part of the race. In the stretch, she cut down that margin then made a serious bid for the lead inside the final furlong.
Asked to put her best foot forward, Galactic Tide responded to win by 1 ¾ lengths to give Mo Town his 20th winner – good enough for seventh on the freshman sire list.
Bred by Hugh Moore, Galactic Tide is one of three winners from three to race out of five-time winner Ten Pin Tide. That mare is half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Avanzare, multiple stakes winner Black Tide, and American Pharoah’s stakes placed Demodog.
A Grade I winning son of Uncle Mo, Mo Town’s first crop includes five stakes performers led by two stakes winners. Galactic Tide is the second winner of the weekend for Mo Town after his stakes placed Cholly broke her maiden at Del Mar on Friday night.
