Lucidity Another Runaway Winner for Mo Town
It was a second winner in less than 24 hours for Mo Town on Saturday when Lucidity (2f Mo Town x Heavenly Bliss, by Holy Bull) broke her maiden at Laurel Park.
The filly relaxed for the early part of the 5 ½ furlong dirt race as she raced nearly 10 lengths off the leader in midpack. Jockey Jevian Toledo started his urging with three furlongs left to go and Lucidity steadily made progress through the field to reach the leader as they passed the furlong pole.
She had a secure lead with a sixteenth of a mile left and raced away to win by 5 ½ lengths in the end as her sire’s 11th winner.
Bred in Kentucky by Scott and Debbie Pierce, Lucidity is trained by Thomas McMahon for Jose Aguilar.
The filly is one of five winners from five runners out of Heavenly Bliss. Heavenly Bliss is a half-sister to the dam of stakes-placed Sir Benet. The family also includes Grade I winner Game Face, Grade III winners Verdana Bold and Hibiscus Punch, among the nine stakes winners under her third dam.
Mo Town also had a runaway winner on Friday night when Mo Aretha won by 4 ¾ lengths on debut.
