Mares In Foal to Tiz The Law Led by $300,000 Mare
It has been a strong introduction to the market for four-time Grade I winner Tiz The Law at this month’s Keeneland November Breeding Stock Sale with those in-foal to the classic winner selling for up to $300,000.
Purchased by Yushun Company Limited from Paramount Sales as agent, Ahh Chocolate was a top racemare herself with multiple graded stakes victories. Out of a half-sister to multiple graded stakes winner Rahystrada and stakes winner Lone Star Sky, Ahh Chocolate herself is also a half-sister to multiple graded stakes-placed Anesite.
Ahh Chocolate only has one foal to race from two of racing age with that colt giving her an update when finishing second at Churchill Downs on November 5.
Ahh Chocolate was followed closely by the Ever Union Shokai-purchased Some Kind of Blue.
Selling for $290,000 from the ELiTE consignment, Some Kind of Blue is not only a half-sister to Grade I winner Eskimo Kisses and Grade I-placed Silver Ride but also a granddaughter of champion and Grade I Kentucky Derby winner Winning Colors. Some Kind of Blue is a half-sister to four winners overall out of her dam Silver Colors with that one a half-sister to stakes-placed Golden Colors and Ocean Colors.
A pair of $200,000 mares rounded out the top four for Tiz The Law.
Purchased by Magna Carta Bloodstock, American Pharoah’s Speedy Vanessa was sold by Denali Stud. A winning racehorse herself, Speedy Vanessa is also a half-sister to Grade I winner Karlovy Vary, who has produced multiple graded stakes winner Mean Mary and Uncle Mo’s Grade III winner Bye Bye Melvin.
Paramount also sold Wecallherqueenmary to Castleton Lyons. An Exaggerator half-sister to Grade III winner Golden Hawk, Wecallherqueenmary is out of a full sister to Speightstown. In addition to Speightstown, Canadian champion Silken Cat also produced multiple graded stakes winner Irap an the dam of Grade I winner Capezzano.
In all, the 15 mares sold in foal to Tiz The Law averaged $133,333 with a median of $120,000. The best son of Constitution, Tiz The Law’s first foals arrive in 2022.
