Mazing Mark Second Stakes Winner for Mo Town
It was a second stakes winner for Mo Town on Saturday night when Mazing Mark (2c Mo Town x Moon Meeting Too, by Malibu Moon) broke his maiden in the Jean Lafitte Stakes.
Running under the lights at Delta Downs, the Norman Stables runner let the field sort itself out in front of him as he settled in the back of the pack early in the one-mile race. He left himself plenty to do in the stretch but proved up to the task as he caught up to the leader just inside the eighth pole.
He pulled away from there to a 1½ length win to break his maiden in his third start for Lonnie Briley.
Bred by Jory Sherman and Don Blowe, Mazing Mark is one of six winners out of Moon Meeting Too, who is a half-sister to stakes winners Now It Begins and Nasty Rumor. This family also includes dual Grade I winner Henny Hughes among others.
Mo Town is the sire of two stakes winners and five stakes performers from his first crop with his five stakes performers putting him sixth on the freshman sire list while he sits eighth by stakes winners.
