Mo Aretha 10th Winner for Mo Town
Mo Aretha (2f Mo Town x Justitia, by Stephen Got Even) was a debut winner for her sire on Friday night with a Maiden Special Weight victory at Remington Park.
In the first half of the field a few lengths behind the leader early on in the 6 ½ furlong dirt race, Mo Aretha started to rally in the late turn and cut into the margin. Sent into a drive in the stretch by Freddy Marnrrique, the filly took the lead inside the final furlong and romped away to win by a widening 4 ¾ lengths in the end.
Trained by Brent Davidson, Mo Aretha is owned by Stephen Baker and Colleen Davidson. The filly was bred in Kentucky by Four Pillars Holdings out of the five-time winner Justitia and is bred on the successful Uncle Mo x A.P. Indy line cross that has worked so well for Mo Town’s sire.
She is the first foal out of her dam, who is out of multiple stakes winner Judicature, the dam of stakes-placed Freiburg.
Mo Town is the sire of 10 winners, led by stakes placed Mo Trump. That colt placed second in the Aspirant Stakes on Monday.
