Mo Stash Second Winner in a Week for Mo Town

It’s a second winner in a week for Mo Town after Mo Stash (2c Mo Town x Making Mark Money, by Smart Strike) won his debut in an Ellis Park Maiden Special Weight.

Mo Stash was slow out of the gate but quickly made up for that bobble in the 5 ½ furlong turf race by taking a place close behind the leader. Sent to the leaders’ outside just before the quarter pole, Mo Stash entered a duel that would last until the line.

Mo Stash was determined to win to score by a head for BBN Racing and Victoria Oliver.

A $130,000 yearling purchase by his racing owner at least year’s Keeneland September Sale from the Summerfield consignment. Bred by Rhineshire Farm, Mo Stash is a half-brother to Grade II-placed Hidden Stash and Cupid winner Cupid’s Strike among the four other winners from four to race out of Making Mark Money.

The family also includes Grade I winners Maxfield, Sky Mesa, and Matareya among the stakes winners under his third dam La Affirmed.

Mo Stash has a weanling half-brother by Practical Joke to come.

Mo Town is a top 10 freshman sire with his five winners with a lower stud fee than many of the horses above him.
