Mo Town Filly Impressive In Maiden Victory
It was a flashy victory in her second start for Motown Dynamic (3f Mo Town x Really, by The Factor) on Saturday when the filly raced to a 6 ¼ length Oaklawn Park Maiden Special Weight victory.
The six furlong dirt race saw the Steve Asmussen trainee bolt to the lead from the start before settled by Tyler Gaffalione. She was never under serious threat from the rest of the field and easily extended her lead around the turn before asked for more in the stretch.
Gaffalione kept the Mo Town daughter focused on her task to the line as she put 6 ¼ lengths between herself and the second place runner with the third place finisher nearly 10 lengths behind.
The filly went off as the favorite in this affair and now has two top two finishes in two starts for owner Larry Connor.
Bred by Peter Hills, Motown Dynamic is the first named foal out of four-time winner Really. That mare is a half-sister to Grade I winner Fighting Mad and Grade III winner Love Tap among the four other winners out of Smokey’s Love. The family also includes Grade I winner High Fly with at least one stakes performer under each of Really’s first four dams.
By his sire-of-sires studmate Uncle Mo, Mo Town’s 77 winners from his first three Northern Hemisphere crops puts him sixth among his peers with each ahead of him having more runners. Mo Town is also the sire of six stakes winners and 12 stakes performers so far.
