Mo Town Filly Sells for $210,000 at OBS Spring

Mo Town juveniles have often been popular at the sales and the OBS Spring 2-Year-Old In Training Sale was no different this week with Donato Lanni purchasing a $210,000 filly.

Bred in Florida by Loren Nichols, the filly was consigned by Top Line Sales and breezed in :9.4 during the Under Tack Sale.

She is the second foal out of the Justin Phillip mare Just a Catch, who is a full sister to the stakes winning What a Catch. Just a Catch is also a half-sister to the stakes winner and Grade III-placed Dubini and stakes-placed Canceled This.

This is a family of producers with one of Just a Catch’s half-sisters producing Grade I winner Girvin, Grade II winner and multiple Grade I-placed Midnight Bourbon and two other graded stakes performers. Just a Catch is also a half-sister to Clarendon Fancy, whose two winners from three to race include Grade I winner Brightwork and stakes performer Quiet Company.

Mo Town is the sire of three stakes winners in 2024, third best among all Third-Crop Sires alongside a group that includes Justify.
