Mo Town Looks to Continue Yearling Success at Fasig-Tipton October
The sire of multiple session toppers at the Keeneland September Yearling Sale, Mo Town looks to repeat the feat on October 25 – 28 at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October Yearlings Sale where he sends 19 through the ring.
That group starts with Hip 291 a Michael C. Byrne-consigned colt out of two-time winner Ravenist. A half-sister to three stakes performers, the colt’s dam sees stakes winning half-sister Ruby Park as the dam of stakes performer and Grade I-producing mare Lucas Street.
Lucas Street produced Grade I Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint winner Wavell Avenue, whose first foal is the Grade I winner Grenadier Guards.
Hip 307 could see a big update just a little over a week after selling with the Gainesway-consigned colt’s Grade III-placed half-sister the dam of juvenile Grade II winner and Grade I-placed Pappacap. Pappascat is one of seven winning horses from eight to race out of the colt’s stakes-placed dam Redmeansgo.
Redemansgo herself is a half-sister to Peruvian Horse of the Year Al Qasar and two other stakes winners. Redmeansgo also had an update of her own with her 2-year-old daughter Delia Mo placed after the catalog was released.
Mo Town’s Hip 338 is the first foal out of the Street Cry mare Rose Pedals, who is a daughter of Grade I winning Passing Shot. The February-born yearling filly also sees Grade III winner Aucilla as her third dam with all three of her dams with foals of racing age on the page producing at least one stakes performer.
Warrendale Sales sends out a half-brother to four stakes performers as Hip 685 for Mo Town. A half-brother to nine winners out of Unbridled Appeal, his siblings include the stakes winning Souper Charlotte as the most successful of his four blacktype earning siblings.
Their dam Unbridled Appeal isn’t the only top stakes producer in the family, her half-sister Rehear produced horses such as Grade I winner Mani Bhavan and Grade II winner Hear The Ghost and half-sister Turkappeal produced Grade II winner Pink Champagne among four stakes performers.
Hip 689 from Eaton Sales is the first foal out of a winning daughter of Grade III winner Misty Rosette. The dam of six winners from seven to race, Misty Rosette is a full sister to Grade II winner Storm Wolf and a half-sister to Broodmare of the Year Littleprincessemma.
Littleprincessemma has proven to be a talented broodmare as the dam of Mo Town’s Triple Crown winning studmate American Pharoah and Grade I winner Chasing Yesterday among others.
Much like Hip 689, Taylor Made Sales’ Hip 711 is another from a big Grade I winning family. The colt is the first foal out of Vendita, who is a daughter of stakes winner Cure For Sale. The dam of four winners from six to race, Cure For Sale is also a full sister to Grade II winner Blues For Sale. That mare produced multiple Grade I winner Blue Prize and Grade I winner Blue Stripe from her eight winners from eight to race.
Alliance Sales Agency consigns Hip 843, a filly out of Andri. The dam of three winners from four to race, Andri is also a daughter of the Grade I winner Nonsuch Bay, who has produced six winners herself. Nonsuch Bay is also a half-sister to the dam of multiple graded stakes placed Samraat and three other stakes performers.
The May-born Hip 1180 is a half-brother to five winners out of stakes-placed Dressed to Kill, led by Grade III winner Lady Ninja. Dressed to Kill is one of six stakes performers from 11 winners out of Violet Lady, whose winners are led by two-time Grade II winner Skyring and Grade I winner Greenspring among others. The Paramount Sales-consigned colt’s great-granddam is Grade I winner Top Corsage, who also produced stakes performers and stakes producers after her racing career.
The last of Mo Town’s offerings is Hip 1583 from Mulholland Springs, the first foal out of a full sister to Grade I winner Stormy Lucy. Stormy Lucy isn’t the only stakes winner under this colt’s second dam with his dam’s half-sister producing Grade II winner Big Runnuer, a three-quarter brother to the dam of this offering.
The colt’s second dam Here Comes Lucinda is a half-sister to three stakes performers, led by Grade III winner Moonwalk and stakes winner ThatswhatImean.
